Children under 12 are allowed at Fish Eagle Lodge, however not allowed at Sandstone Lodge. As Fish Eagle Lodge is booked for private use, children of all ages are most certainly welcome.

Please take care as we are a wildlife retreat.

• From King Shaka International Airport pick up zone follow signs N2 South/Durban (N2 Toll Gates)
• N2 tollgates are approximately 4km from pick up zone
• Continue along the N2 (N2 Port Shepstone) for 32,7 km until the sign showing N2 Port Shepstone N3 Pietermaritzburg
• Follow N3 sign Pietermaritzburg / Johannesburg
• Continue to follow N3 Pietermaritzburg signs until you reach N3 Toll Gates; approximately 34,3 km
• Continue on N3 Pietermaritzburg (after passing through Toll Gates)
• Take the Camperdown turn off ( approximately 34,5 km)
• At the Yield sign at the top of the off ramp, turn left to R603 Umbumbulu
• Travel 3km to T-Junction (Stop Street) and turn left to R603 Umbumbulu
• Continue for 15.5 km and turn right to R624 Eston / R56 Richmond
• (as a landmark, there will be a Caltex Garage to your far left)
• Travel past the Eston Sugar Mill (Illovo) on your left
• Continue for 24.3 km
• You will reach a our sign board on your left which reads Duma Manzi – turn left onto a dirt road
• Travel 7 km until you reach the main gate – you have arrived!

Yes, we have complimentary Wifi at selected areas of our lodge.  This is a new addition to the lodge but please try and put your phone away for your trip and relax – that’s what you’re coming here for 😉

 • Sandstone Lodge main deck and boma area

Yes we do! Fish Eagle Lodge is available for self catering. When booking Fish Eagle Lodge you are required to book all 4 suites. You will have Fish Eagle Lodge exclusively for your stay and this includes a central lodge with a bar, lounge, fire place, outdoor boma and seating area, swimming pool, kitchen and of course the most beautiful views. 

As we all know KZN weather changes quickly. You might drive down in rain and arrive at the lodge with full sunshine. We recommend to bring warm jackets, closed shoes for hiking and don’t forget your swimwear. Please have a look on our website what the weather will be like at the time of your booking to help you pack.

Yes, we are proud to be voted Best Luxury Safari Spa from 2012- 2016 by World Luxury Spa Awards. With that being said, it is a must when visiting Duma Manzi.

Check in is at 14h00 on the day of your arrival. As we are situated 7km down in the valley from where you will arrive at our Hilltop farm, you may arrive at Hilltop from 13h00 on the day of your arrival, for check in to your accommodation at 14h00. 

Please arrange your arrival time at Hilltop with us in advance so that we can ensure one of our friendly staff can meet you at the gate. 

Rooms must be vacated by 10h00 for the convenience of arriving guests.

Once you get to the lodge you will feel an overwhelming feeling of relaxation. If its relaxation you’re after, simply curl up with a good book on one of the couches on the deck or on your private pool lounger. 

For the adventurer there is plenty to do – guided walks, game drives, fishing, swimming and more. 

Yes we do indeed. A delicious menu is available for lunch at an extra charge. 

Once you’ve arrived at Duma Manzi, you will park your car at our Hilltop farm. We have safe and secure parking available for the duration of your stay.
